ive recently traded up my trusty black and white O.P.I colors for "you don't know jacques" which eventually becomes the perfect shade of grey after 2 coats or 3. i wonder how absurd it would be on a scale of 1-10 to buy enough of these little bottles to paint my kitchen with since BEHR paints is openly refusing to cooperate in giving me the color i want. but in other news, it's become official that i've found little to no use for color anyway. i think in black and white, dream in black and white and speak in black and white. unfortunately im still learning how to convert my decision making to a simple black and white. i've been obsessing (and when i say obsess i mean that cant eat, cant sleep, reach for the stars, over the fence, world series sorta thing) over the bcbg mendal boot when i learned the news of them going on sale dropping for $600 to $300. (which to me sounded like the closest thing they could get to a reparation for fashion lovers everywhere after the sad margiela sandal bootie knock offs from last spring...mortifying.) i realized that all of the blogger world had caught the early worm when mrs. aldridge of sea of shoes was spotted wearing a pair in paris and rumi of fashion toast posted a sun-kissed pair the same week. my best friend even sent me a picture text of her galavanting around the nashville bcbg store in a pair.
proof that the nice guy always finishes last.
with christmas around the corner i've been finishing the last touches of my christmas list. ive been a pretty good girl for the past 350 odd days so i don't think becoming best friends with rei kawakubo would be too much to ask. if santa can make it to every chimney on earth in a single night im pretty sure that one will be a cake walk. i recently finished a dress that was loosely inspired by a previous comme de garcons collection and which to the untrained eye looks like a wool trashbag due to batwings so exaggerated it will have even those most scared of heights convinced they can jump off a roof and catch flight.
winter 09/10 i want fur anything. leather almost anything. shapes full of drama. a crisp white. a foggy grey. and a pronounced noir.
